New Years & The Resolution

Nope, I didn't suddenly decide to have a new years' resolution. And yes, I know today isn't January 1st. However, today is the eve of the Jewish new year, and Jack's Mannequin's new video has been premiered.

So, watch The Resolution in all of its glory on MTV. Go ahead. You know you want to.
Also, in honor of the new Jack's Mannequin record coming out tomorrow (or, rather, today), a new Jack's Mannequin layout! Woo.

Another point of catch up I forgot to add to the last post - little sister Lior has finished her 7-weeks course in the army and is now a Sar-El guide, which is a guide of volunteers from abroad that come to waste their time doing the dirty work they don't even give soldiers. Go sister.

Behold, some pictures and videos from the finishing ceremony...

Soldiers marching. Sister is the second one on the left.

Attention! They're done marching.

Straightening up the ranks.

At ease/in attention. Soldiers doing their thing.

Getting her commanders/guides string (the green string on her arm)...

Here's a video of her getting the string from her commander.

There was an artistic part, where the girls sang a dumb song. Fuzzy picture (she was quite far away)...

And a video of a part of the song.

This morning I was viciously woken up at around 9-9:30am. Last night, mother had decided it was upon my shoulders to pressure Dad into getting furniture for our roof (a nice table, some chairs, a parasol). So last night I staged a conversation with dad about the topic and convinced him to go look at furniture this morning. It started with him hassling me for addresses and phone numbers of stores and then him and mum camping out in my room wanting to see pictures of furniture. When I finally kicked them out, I was already well fed up of them.
So this morning sister calls and wakes me up and she (Sharon) and Dad drag me all the way to Ga'ash, an area with many stores. We've seen some bizarre stuff in some strange stores. It was a nightmare. We finally found 2 tables and 2 sets of chairs looking pretty much the same, just one is made of iron and the other of aluminum. Aluminum is obviously the superior stuff, and is therefore much more expensive. We ended up not buying squat because of the price. We did get to eat some McDonalds, though.

"Family Guy" gave me some grief this afternoon. I had issues with playing the episode so I had to convert it to DVD. And either the file was messed up or the convertion messed it up, but the last part of the episode was horribly out of sync. The episode was still fun and filled with awesome jokes like "Horton hears domestic violence coming from the neighbors and doesn't call 911". HAH! Stewie I missed you!

I also called Efrat and Bella to wish them a happy new (Jewish) year, as this is coming today. I have a lengthy conversation with both. I like talking to the two of them the most. And the weird thing is they're both religious and I usually hate religious folks but I just connected with the two of them really well. Bella and I are meant to do dinner together on her release day. Looking forward to that!

This evening we went to grandma Yehudit's house to celebrate the new year. She also invited my dad's parents - Haviv and Shula - which was nice because they had no one to spend the holiday with. I sat next to my grandma Shula (grandma Yehudit never sits at dinner, she eats beforehand and spends her time serving food), and just tried to be with her a little bit, make her feel loved. I don't spend a lot of time with her so I thought I should. I also don't like visiting her home because it's a depressing place but if you put her in the setting of my mother's loud and happy family, it's really not that bad. I even caught her smiling fondly at my little cousin Roey, the cute little bugger was sitting there quietly playing with dolls and pillows. I think she's going to love it when her great-grandson (or daughter) is born in two months (my religious cousin and his 17-year-old wife are having a baby), it's been a while since there was a baby in that side of the family.
Also, cousin Dor and I went to my house to get my sisters' computer (my old computer) so he can take it, reformat it, add some RAM to it, clean out all the dust and reinstall Windows and Office.

That was pretty much my day/night. More eventful than most days recently! Am going to watch the final of Survivor season 9 and runion show now. It's long overdue!
