Freaky Saturday
Yesterday was a weird kind of day. I woke up, I did some laundry (mum really needs to get back home, pronto), and then I got ready and left to get to Jaffa to work with dad. Forget the fact the taxi was a no-show and I waited for it for more than 10 minutes and had to go back upstairs to call another taxi (that will teach me a lesson for not having the taxi station numbers on my cell). When a taxi finally showed up, the driver got too excited I was going to Jaffa and started going on about how he grew up there and telling me stories. All I wanted was some peace and quiet on my way to work but noooooo I had to fall on the annoying blabber-mouth driver. Should've just asked my uncle to give me a ride.
When I got there, I found a deserted place. It continued being so for the rest of the day AND we had to close early because it was the eve of the Ninth of Av fast. To top that, I got annoyed at my dad for not wanting to give me extra money if I work extra hours. This is what happens when the agreement only applies to 8 hours. I got annoyed because this other kid, Ido, that dad is so fond of, he may be able to hold a shift on his own (dad won't trust me to do that, he won't leave me alone to even try) but he'll be there for 8 hours sharp and not a minute over that. I did a shift with him once, I know. He looks at the clock more often than he does the counter to see if there are people.
So we closed early and I called Hadar to see if she's up to doing something together. She mumbled something incoherent and we agreed that if she's done with her plans early, she'll give me a call and we'll see what to do. About 15-20 minutes later, Shirley called me and invited me over to her new house to watch a movie (Ninth of Av royally sucks because absolutely EVERYTHING is closed so the only option of entertainment). So I went, because I wasn't going to sit at home and wait for Hadar and because I haven't seen Shirley in a while and I did want to see her new crib!
So went to Shirley's, she really does have a fancy new house. It's a two-floors villa with a massive yard and a whole load of space all around. Neat rooms and everything. Her awesome mum also made REAL home made pizza, she even made the dough. Something wicked. So we sat and ate some and then sat to watch the movie. Just that before that, Hadar called and had a hissy fit over the phone that I went to Shirley's. I mean, I didn't make any plans with her, so what is she moaning about? We said we MIGHT make plans if she was done with her other plans, she hardly expected me to sit at home and wait for her, did she?
We watched "Freaky Friday". I had never seen this movie before (La Lohan factor) but I had a good time. It had some nice music covers on it - Simple Plan's "Happy Together" and Bowling For Soup's "Baby One More Time". However, Linday's band in the movie sucked majorly.
All in all it was a weird day. Hopefully today will be... less weird.
