RIP Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev

Today, 2 years and 4 days after they were taken hostage while serving their country in the army reserve, Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev - two Israeli soldiers - were brought home in black coffins as a part of a prisoners swap deal. The price Israel has paid for them was 5 living terrorists (one of which has killed a man in front of his 4-year-old daughter and then proceeded to smash her skull with the butt of his gun), and 199 bodies of Lebanese and Palestinian terrorists that died over the years trying to kill Israeli citizens.

The Hezbollah who kidnapped the soldiers and held them prisoners organized quite the horror show on TV this morning. When a Hezbollah official was asked whether the captured soldiers were dead or alive he replied "Well, lets see..." indicating the black cars behind him. As if he was a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat. And then, with no warning, a black coffin was taken out of the cars, and then another one. The families of the captured soldiers got to find out THIS WAY that their loved ones are dead. They didn't get to have an army general gently bring them the news. They had to watch this horror show on television.

And while we gave the Hezbollah back 199 bodies, we got 2 back. While we gave them 5 living terrorists with blood on their hands, we got 2 coffins. Not exactly the fairest of deals. If anything it proves the greatness of the IDF and the greatness of the State of Israel. Our soldiers' lives MEAN SOMETHING. Our soldiers' bodies MEAN SOMETHING. We don't leave wounded men out in the field. We would give our lives to bring them back. We don't leave hostages - dead or alive - in the hands of an enemy. We will pay any price to bring them back.

Let that be a lesson to you who the real enemy is. It's not Israel, the "Zionist enemy", the "army of occupation". It's Hezbollah. And Hamas who are still holding our soldier Gilad Shalit hostage. And it's Syria. And Lebannon. And Iran. Those are the evil son-of-bitches. We're just a country trying to live in peace...The Palestinians are a nation whose heroes are terrorists. A nation that idolizes those who murder innocent people, with EVERY INTENTION OF MURDERING INNOCENT PEOPLE (there's a difference between an army that accidently kills innocent people in a military action, to terrorists whose sole goal is to kill unarmed innocent people). Do you really want to feel sorry for this kind of nation?

We were all watching the horror show at the army together. The entire unit, Yohalan herself included, were sat down in the basement where the TV was and watched. And was horrified. And drank everything the reporters said like were in the middle of the desert and this was water. Every piece of information.
When I told my mother of the horror show (she was at work, and didn't watch TV, only listened to the radio), she cried. When I told her Goldwasser's mother went out to the shop to buy Ehud's favorite things for him to eat when he gets back, my mum had tears in her eyes.

The mind is slowly understanding and the heart screams "revenge". We went to war in 2006 to bring those soldiers back and they only returned now. 2 years later. In coffins. So many lives lost, so much blood spilled.

Dear Nasrallah, do come out of hiding. We're anxious to meet you.
Dear Ismail Haniyeh, your day will also come. Sleep with one eye opened, you bastard.
