Family vacation, yo
I just got back from 4 days with my entire extended family. Too much. Too bloody much. It's not that I don't love them all to pieces, I do, they just drive me up the wall sometimes. Well, some of them anyway.
I had every intention of walking into that place, looking for the manager and asking where the nearest internet was at. Much to my dismay we arrived at a secluded house called "Villa Morgana", that was neat in all ways except for the fact it did not have internet. What it did have was a private pool, 3 suites and a master-suite with 2 bedrooms, a living room, 2 bathrooms, a jaccuzi, a sweet looking hammock which I spent a while on, listening to music and reading "Dearly Devoted Dexter" and talking on the phone, and a BBQ area where we grilled till there was no meat left. A whole ton of picture to follow in the coming days, when my cousin brings me a CD with pictures from his camera. Meanwhile here are a few shots taken on my cellphone.
This is Boccaccio the falcon, named after the author Giovanni Boccaccio who wrote a story called "The Falcon" that I had to study in literature class in high school. This falcon (I think it's a falcon anyway, if it's not, correct me) flew into our pool and spent forever there. He then flew onto the fence by the pool where he was well fed by my grandfather and my uncle. He stuck around the villa for a while longer, and then vanished. My baby cousin Roey called him "Shuff" (at first people said he was an owl, but I'm sure he's not that. Anyway in Hebrew, an "owl" is "Yanshuff") or Bazzy (Bazz = falcon in Hebrew). Cute.

Next up, my cousin Dor being uber-manly when he reads a women's magazine called "LaIsha" ("To The Woman"). HAHAHAHAHA! Sorry cousin!

My cousin Roni is quite the little model. She made me take a ton of pictures of her. Not that I minded cause it rewarded me with hugs later. Isn't she adorable? She just turned 6!

This is Roni's brother Roey, he's 2 years and 3 months old. He's a cute little rascal. This is Roey and my sister Sharon. They spend a ton of time together.

Just Roey.

Baby Girl, I'm A Blur.

This is my cousin Danielle. She's like, 16. I think.

Cousin Dor, he's 18 and single, ladies.

My 12 year old sister Sharon.

Grandpa David.

My dad, Akiva. Completely unaware his picture is being taken, as are most of the pictures here.

18 year old sister, Lior, and behind her, my aunty Esti.

The abandoned pool at nighttime.

My Crocs shoes that were miraculously saved that very morning. Yes, this is the most you'll get to see of me.

Cousin Ariel. Addicted to smoking chocolate cigarettes.

Aunt Betty looking gloomy at dinner. And that's my sister Lior's body behind her. She's single too... Hahah!

Roey + Dor looking at pictures in Dor's camera.

Lior later joined them, and they snapped some joined pictures.

So this is where my love of crossword puzzles comes from. Aunt Esti is rocking the crosswords. HELLO FELLOW WORD NERD!

My mum, Hanna. Not entirely sure what she's doing. And oh, don't tell her this is online, she'll kill me.

Grandma. Too up close and personal. She asked me to erase this picture but fuck it. She's not that scary, honest. She's the coolest grandma ever.

The first day was pretty much just chillin'. We left at midday and got there somewhere around 3-4pm. We went straight into the pool, had some BBQ and eventually hit the sack. On the second day we went sailing in Kayaks. The day started out bad, because my uncle with his jeep totally got lost and got us, with our regular cars, driving through the middle of nowhere, in a field. My mum got rather hysteric. When she calmed down, however, and we got to the right place, it was fun. Myself, my cousin Danielle and my cousin Natalie took a kayak together. And we were the "winning team". We got to the finish line first. Of course, there was no real competition but to us it was an achievement all the same. I also nearly lost my Croc shoe when getting out of the kayak and into the water to attempt releasing us from a rock that stopped out sailing. The shoe was saved and restored. All is well.
On the third day we went to a place called "River of the Kibbutz's". There were no actual Kibbutz's around and the river kinda sucked, but those of us who went into the water (not me) seemed to have enjoyed themselves.
We also had a ton of food. BBQ every day, and my grandma and aunts' best cooking every single day. I kinda missed my junk food, though, had to admit. Oh yes, and we had a ton of ice cream too, which always rocks because it was hot like fucking hell, and our car didn't have air-conditioning.
Oh, we had joys, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun. It was all paid by my grandparents as a celebration for their 50th anniversary. So thanks grandma and grandpa. Here's for 50 more years of marriage.
